Older people have no valid reason to struggle with basic technology.

Nearly 19 years have passed since the launch of the first iPhone, marking almost two decades of ongoing education, adaptation, and learning in the realm of technology. Yet, some older adults remain shockingly inept, unable to perform simple tasks such as downloading an app, clearing notifications, or accessing their email. This situation is incredibly frustrating, especially since many older people own some of the most expensive smartphones available, yet they hardly know how to utilize them. I often assist my grandmother with her phone, and it truly astonishes me that after more than a decade of smartphone ownership, she still struggles with basic functions. While this may reflect broader behavioral patterns among older adults rather than just their tech skills, it is undeniably exasperating when they fail to read the information on their devices and mistakenly believe they are malfunctioning. Honestly, how difficult is it to read? I understand that older individuals may face challenges in learning new things, but come on, it has been over ten years.

Edit: Why is no one addressing the reading issue? Lol

Second edit: I want to clarify that I do not harbor any animosity towards older people, especially not my grandmother. Their lack of phone skills does not diminish my affection for them; it ultimately hinges on their character and personality, lol.
