1. What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?
This Privacy Policy applies to Silly.Chat's treatment of Personal Information that we gather when you use our Platform or Service.
It does not apply to third-party services that Silly.Chat does not own or control, including websites, social networks, or tools you may access through our Platform. You are responsible for reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with while using Silly.Chat.
2. About the Service
Silly.Chat connects users globally through text, video, and image-based random chat, pairing users based on compatibility, preferences, or at random for casual conversation.
Silly.Chat does not provide services in the following restricted regions due to international regulations:
- Cuba
- Iran
- Syria
- North Korea
- Crimea
- Russia
- Belarus
- DNR & LNR regions
3. Information Silly.Chat Collects
When you use Silly.Chat, we collect three types of Personal Information:
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
- User Contributed Content
- Automatic Information
Together, these form your "Personal Information."
You must ensure that any information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to share it.
4. Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
Most of Silly.Chat can be used without an account. If you choose to register, we collect:
- Username
- Password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form)
- Email address, and a one-time code sent to it to verify ownership
Whether or not you register, using the Service involves:
- Messages, media, or content shared through the Service
- Browser and device information
We do not ask for or store your real name, mobile number, date of birth, gender, profile photo, or device contacts.
Your Shared Data
Any content you share (text, images, videos) may be saved by the receiving user. We cannot control how other users behave, so avoid sharing sensitive information.
5. User Contributed Content
Your 1-on-1 video and text chats are not recorded, and we do not keep their contents once the session ends. What we do store is:
- Posts, stories, and comments you make in public chat rooms, which stay visible to other users
- Reports you file or that are filed against you, including the reason, any details given, and the IP addresses involved
- Session metadata: the type of chat, when it started and ended, and how long it lasted
This information may be used for moderation, community safety, and compliance with laws.
Forensic Snapshot Policy: To ensure compliance with international law and to maintain a safe environment, Silly.Chat may capture a forensic snapshot (single frame) of a user's video feed when a report or serious violation is flagged. If a violation is confirmed, this data is retained for a period of 2 years for legal reference and audit trails. 6. Automatic Information
We automatically collect:
- IP address
- Device type
- Browser type
- App usage statistics
- Session logs
- Cookies and tracking identifiers
- Location information (with your consent)
- Crash and performance logs
This information helps improve security, moderation, and platform performance.
7. How We Protect Your Information

✔Access to user information is limited to authorized employees, contractors, and service providers who need it for operational reasons.
✔We use encryption, access controls, and monitoring systems.
However, due to the nature of the internet, no platform can guarantee 100% security.
We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, unless a longer retention is required by law.
8. How We Share Personal Information

Silly.Chat displays advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to Silly.Chat or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
Ads are not shown on our live chat surfaces — video chat, text chat, audio chat, and chat rooms carry no advertising.

10. Publicly Available Information
Some parts of Silly.Chat rely on user-generated content. Public profile data may be visible to the general internet unless you adjust your visibility settings.
11. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Silly.Chat operates globally. Your data may be processed on servers located outside your home country.
We follow applicable laws and use approved safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.
12. Children's Privacy
You must be 18+ or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction to use Silly.Chat.
Silly.Chat is a general-audience service intended for adults. It is not directed at children, we do not market it to children, and its content and features are not designed to appeal to them.
Before entering the Platform, every visitor is asked to confirm that they meet our minimum age requirement. We do not collect a date of birth or any other age information, and we therefore do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.
If we learn, through a user report, moderation review, or any other means, that a user is under 18, we terminate that access and delete any personal information we hold for them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it. A parent or guardian may use the same address to ask what information we hold about their child and to request its deletion.
13. Government or Legal Requests
We may share account information with law enforcement if required by lawful request or in emergencies involving safety risk.
14. Email Communications
By accepting this policy, you allow Silly.Chat to send:
- Service updates
- Account notifications
- Optional promotional communications
You may opt-out of marketing emails anytime.
15. Users' Rights (Including GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you reside, you may have specific privacy rights, such as those governed by the GDPR (EU) or CCPA (California). All our global users have the right to:
- Access & Portability: Request a copy of the personal data we have collected about you.
- Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete profile data.
- Erasure / RTBF: Request deletion of your account and personal data (Right to be Forgotten).
- Objection: Revoke permissions through device settings or opt-out of data processing.
- Non-Discrimination: Receive equal service even if you exercise your privacy rights.
When you delete your account:
- It enters a 30-day deactivation period to allow recovery.
- After 30 days, we permanently delete your data.
- Minimal data may be retained solely for fraud prevention or legal compliance.
